POE 9061 Toughened POE, EVA Plastic, Exact 9061 is an ethylene-butene copolymer produced by ExxonMobil using proprietary metallocene catalyst technology. This resin is compatible with various polyolefins, such as polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA).

Performance Characteristics of POE:



Polyolefin elastomer POE, synthesized using a metallocene catalyst system, is a novel thermoplastic elastomer with a narrow molecular weight distribution and uniform short-chain branching. Its unique molecular structure gives POE the dual characteristics of both plastic and rubber, offering excellent comprehensive performance. POE serves as a bridge between plastics and rubber. Its main features include:

(1) Commercially available POE is in the form of transparent pellets and can be directly blended with PP using extrusion processes, making processing very convenient.

(2) The molecular structure contains no unsaturated double bonds and has low tertiary atom content, resulting in excellent thermal stability and weathering resistance superior to other elastomers.

(3) Uniform copolymer sequence distribution, narrow molecular weight distribution, and low crystallinity ensure good compatibility with polyolefins. Its very low glass transition temperature and high elongation at break make it suitable for toughening PP, effectively improving PP's low impact toughness.

(4) Diverse crosslinking methods, including peroxides, silanes, and radiation. Crosslinked POE exhibits better heat aging and UV resistance than EPDM and EPR.

(5) The soft chain coiled structure of octene and crystalline ethylene chains acting as physical crosslinking points provide excellent mechanical properties and good processability.

(6) Good flowability, excellent dispersion after filler addition, and high weld line strength in finished products.

(7) Strong shear sensitivity and melt strength prevent edge curling during processing, enabling high-speed extrusion for continuous production and increased output.

POE is composed of octene and polyolefin resin, forming a polymer blend with a continuous phase and a dispersed phase exhibiting phase separation. Basic characteristics:

(1) POE possesses the general physical properties of thermoplastic elastomers, such as moldability, recyclability of waste, and vulcanized rubber performance.

(2) POE is low-cost and has a low specific gravity, making it economically favorable by volume.

(3) POE offers excellent heat and cold resistance, providing a wide range of application temperatures.

(4) POE has good weather resistance and aging resistance.

(5) POE exhibits resistance to oil, compression set, and abrasion.

(6) POE features good flowability, excellent toughness, and favorable processability.
