Main Uses
As an intermediate, it can be further brominated to prepare octabromo ether and can be used as a cross-linking or additive flame retardant for expandable polystyrene resin; it is a reactive flame retardant, mainly used for flame retardancy in materials such as foamed polystyrene, unsaturated polyester, and foamed polyester. It can also be used in combination with hexabromocyclododecane, exhibiting a synergistic effect.
