Obtained by steam distillation of the fresh inflorescences of the true lavender plant from the Lamiaceae family. Mainly produced in France, Bulgaria, Russia, Italy, and Tanzania. It is also cultivated in Xinjiang, Shaanxi, Zhejiang, and other regions of China.
