Properties: White powder. Relative density: 1.10, easily soluble in acetone and ethanol, soluble in water, difficult to dissolve in gasoline. Hygroscopic.
Applications: This type of accelerator has low promoting efficiency and poor scorch resistance, so it is rarely used for diene rubbers. However, under special circumstances, such as when using thiuram sulfide as a sulfur donor for vulcanization, it acts as an activator. Thiourea accelerators have unique effectiveness in the vulcanization of chloroprene rubber, producing vulcanizates with good tensile strength, hardness, and compression set properties. Compared to NA-22, this product has faster scorching and vulcanization but better vulcanization plateau. It disperses easily and does not bloom. At higher dosages, it enables high-temperature, high-speed vulcanization, making it particularly suitable for continuous vulcanization of extruded products. It is also used as an accelerator for butyl rubber and an activator for EPDM vulcanization. It has antioxidant effects on natural rubber, chloroprene rubber, nitrile rubber, and styrene-butadiene rubber. It is commonly used in the production of industrial products, special cables, sponge products, etc.
