Apron conveyor is a versatile fixed conveying equipment that uses circulating chains or rollers as traction components and steel plates as the carrying trough. It is suitable for transporting large quantities of bulk materials and heavy individual items. With high traction force, rigid trough plates, and impact resistance, it is ideal for conveying hot, large-sized, abrasive, and heavy castings or forgings, as well as bulk materials or packaged items. It can transport various bulk materials and packaged items horizontally or at an incline and is also used in assembly lines for moving packaged items. Additionally, it can handle high-temperature materials up to approximately 600°C. Apron conveyors are widely used in industries such as chemical, machinery, metallurgy, coal, mining, power, casting, automotive manufacturing, cement, and waste treatment. They feature compact structure, stable operation, low failure rate, high load capacity, and a wide range of speed options. As continuous conveying equipment, apron conveyors are mostly fixed in installation. The structure of an apron conveyor consists of a head wheel device, chain plate assembly, tail wheel tensioning device, frame, and drive unit. The working principle is as follows: after the head sprocket is driven, the traction chain in the chain plate assembly meshes with the sprocket, moving the entire apron along the longitudinal centerline of the conveyor, while the rollers travel along tracks fixed on the frame, completing the conveying process.

Apron conveyors use closed, circulating chains as traction components and flat plates, wave plates, trough-shaped, or box-shaped components as carrying elements. The traction components and carrying elements form the chain plate assembly; the traction chains can be connected to the carrying elements via chain attachments or directly. The carrying elements bear the load themselves and are supported by rollers or idlers fixed on the frame. Apron conveyors have no special requirements for material particle size, lump shape, or working environment. They can transport individual items weighing up to 70-120 kg, with conveyor lengths reaching 40-80 meters and allowing inclinations of up to 25°. Apron conveyors are classified into light, medium, and heavy types.
