Isooctyl acetate is a colorless transparent liquid with a fruity aroma, serving as a high-boiling solvent that is poorly soluble in water. It is widely used in organic synthesis, coatings, plastics, fragrances, adhesives, leather, and other industries. It can also function as an excellent solvent in the synthesis processes of nitrocellulose and many natural resins. Additionally, it is suitable for coating applications such as brushing, dip coating, spraying, and baking finishes. The primary purpose of adding isooctyl acetate to coatings is to improve leveling and film formation effects. It can also act as an effective coalescing aid in latex paints and serves as an additive in cleaning agents and paint removers.
