The Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) is an innovative wastewater treatment technology that combines modern membrane separation technology with biotechnology. It utilizes membrane separation equipment to effectively retain activated sludge and high molecular weight organic substances in the biochemical reaction tank, replacing the secondary sedimentation tank. This significantly increases the concentration of activated sludge (biomass) in the biochemical reaction tank, allowing for separate control of hydraulic retention time (HRT) and sludge retention time (SRT). It continuously reacts and degrades hard-to-degrade high molecular weight organic substances retained in the reactor.
