For these two types, the glass has undergone a special heat treatment, about 650 Celsius to make it soft, then strong compression and cool processes followed in time to increase its strengthen and resistance. Compression of 6000 to 9000 psi will be make it to be semi tempered glass, about 2 times more resistant than normal annealed glass of similar thickness. And Compression of 11000 to 20000 psi will be make it to be fully tempered glass, about 4 or 5 times more resistant than normal annealed glass of similar thickness. This flat tempered glass can help to reduce the chances of injuries as it will be small blunt pieces when breaks.
