Why use a preamplifier module?
Unlike benchtop amplifiers, the preamplifier module provides gain close to the detector before cable capacitance and noise pickup significantly degrade the signal-to-noise ratio. After signal processing and measurement, the preamplifier has no effect on the signal and noise.
Bandwidth and Frequency Response
Femto current amplifiers exhibit ideal performance without requiring specific adjustments or frequent calibration. Bandwidth and frequency response are independent of the 10nF source capacitance. No gain peaking occurs.
Gain and Noise
To achieve extremely low noise by minimizing the associated bandwidth, a very high gain value should be selected.
