The EN12467 CE application process for fiber cement boards is as follows:

(1)Determine requirements and submit application:

Identify harmonized standards and systems;

The company must first clarify that its products require EN12467 CE certification, determining the product type, specifications, and other detailed information;

Submit the certification application to a certification body with EU notified body qualifications. The application should include basic product information, intended use, target market, etc.

(2)Prepare documentation:

Product technical documentation

Product design drawings:

List of raw materials

Production process flow chart

Product manuals, etc.

These documents must provide detailed descriptions of the product's structure, performance, production process, etc., to enable the certification body to fully understand the product.

Quality management system documentation:

If the company has established a quality management system, such as ISO 9001, relevant system documents must be provided to demonstrate the company's stable production and quality control capabilities.

Other relevant documents:

Such as product test reports (if previous relevant tests have been conducted), product label samples, etc.

(3)Product testing:

The certification body will conduct a series of tests on the fiber cement boards according to EN12467 standards and EU Construction Products Regulation (CPR) requirements. Testing items typically include, but are not limited to, the following:

Fire performance testing: Conduct fire rating tests according to standards such as EN13501-1 to ensure the product has certain fire resistance in the event of a fire. (Mandatory item)

Physical performance testing: Such as length and width tolerance, thickness tolerance, edge straightness, edge squareness, apparent density, bending strength (wet state, room temperature state), etc. These tests primarily inspect the product's dimensional accuracy and mechanical strength.

Durability testing: Including water permeability, water vapor permeability, freeze-thaw cycles, dry-wet cycles, thermal rain performance, etc., to evaluate the product's durability and stability under different environmental conditions.

Hazardous substance testing: Detect whether the product contains substances harmful to human health and the environment, such as heavy metals, formaldehyde, etc.

Report preparation: The certification engineer will compile a detailed test report based on the test results. The report will evaluate and analyze the product's various performance indicators, clearly stating whether the product meets EN12467 standards and CE certification requirements.

(4)Review and evaluation:

The certification body will review the test report and relevant technical documents to ensure the testing process complies with standard requirements and the results are accurate and reliable.

If the company chooses certification system 1, the certification body will also conduct an on-site audit of the production facility to inspect the company's production equipment, processes, quality control, etc., for compliance.

(5)Obtain certificate and declaration:

If the product passes the tests and the review is successful, the certification body will issue the EN12467 CE certification certificate. The certificate will include basic product information, certification body details, certification date, validity period, etc.

The company must also prepare a Declaration of Performance (DoP), which must specify the product's performance parameters, scope of application, compliance with standards, etc. This declaration is a crucial document for selling the product in the EU market.

Affix CE marking: After obtaining the certification certificate and the Declaration of Performance, the company can affix the CE marking with the notified body number on the product packaging. The affixation of the CE marking must comply with relevant regulations and requirements to ensure the marking is clear, recognizable, and permanent.

The entire application process may take several weeks or even months, depending on factors such as the complexity of the product, the number of testing items, and the efficiency of the certification body. Therefore, companies should plan and prepare in advance to ensure a smooth application process.
