Combustion Performance Test

Mainly includes tests on the flammability of materials, flame spread speed, etc. For example, using a small flame (such as a small flame source igniting the edge of the material) to observe whether the material is easily ignited and the speed at which flames spread across the material surface. This is similar to common combustion tests for building materials like wooden boards, plastic panels, etc.

Smoke Production Performance Test

Measures the amount of smoke produced by materials during combustion. This is because smoke is one of the major factors causing casualties in fires, as heavy smoke reduces visibility and hinders escape.

Burning Droplets/Particles Test

Observes whether materials produce burning droplets or particles during combustion. These droplets may carry flames, igniting other materials and thus expanding the fire.

For example, for building decoration products made of plastic materials, when ignited, they may produce burning plastic droplets. In such cases, it is necessary to assess the hazard level of these droplets to the surrounding environment and determine whether they meet fire safety requirements.
