Drum Cable is a mainstream solution in the field of mobile transmission, used as a reel and drag cable in drag chain systems, performing winding and unwinding movements along the guidance of the drag shaft or other similar devices.

It is widely used in power transmission and signal control for drum machines, transport machinery, conveyors, and various types of mobile heavy machinery equipment, such as lifting elevators, stackers and reclaimers, car dumpers, spreaders, blending machines, port machine drums, rock drilling jumbos, roadheader drums, electric loaders, etc. Additionally, it can be installed in dry or humid indoor environments, damp industrial settings, and even used for outdoor installations, including in high-temperature and chemically corrosive environments.

Flexibility and Bend Resistance: It possesses excellent flexibility, meeting the demands of long-term, high-speed bending movements, and can withstand repeated bending without damage, maintaining good performance during the rotation, winding, and unwinding of the cable drum.

Weather Resistance: Capable of adapting to all-weather operations, heat-resistant and flame-retardant, it remains flexible in low-temperature environments. When used outdoors, it offers UV resistance (anti-ultraviolet) and waterproof properties. Polyurethane-sheathed drum cables have strong weather resistance and can operate normally within a temperature range of -30°C to 90°C.

Tensile Strength and Pressure/Wear Resistance: Due to the high tensile strength requirements during drum operation and the presence of compression during cable winding, drum cables need to have good tensile and pressure resistance, particularly rolling pressure and abrasion resistance. Adding a Kevlar braided layer between the double sheaths enhances torsion and tensile resistance, reducing the likelihood of issues such as core breakage and sheath cracking.

Sheath Structure: Typically featuring a double-layer structure, the inner sheath protects the core, while the outer sheath protects the overall cable structure. Some cables include a Kevlar braided layer between the double sheaths to enhance torsion and tensile resistance. Outer sheath materials vary, including chloroprene rubber, polyurethane (PUR), nitrile elastomers, etc., each with different characteristics. Polyurethane sheaths offer high strength, wear resistance, nail puncture resistance, waterproofing, oil resistance, and acid/alkali resistance. Nitrile elastomer outer sheaths provide basic properties such as wear resistance, weather resistance, tear resistance, and cold resistance.

Cable Deployment Methods

Vertical Downward: The cable hangs vertically, and the drum must bear the cable's own weight. Suitable for electromagnetic cranes, rotating hook cranes, electric clamp cranes, elevators, manually operated lifting equipment, window insertion machines, and stackers.

Vertical Upward: Similar to vertical downward, but with the drum placed on the fixed side, such as in lifting platforms.

Horizontal Deployment (Drum on Fixed Side): Can be used for rail cranes, crane travel mechanisms, mobile trolleys, coal transport vehicles, or paper roll transport equipment.

Horizontal Deployment (Drum on Mobile Equipment): Suitable for平移臺(tái)車平移臺(tái)車 (translation trolleys), transport trolleys, bucket wheel stackers and reclaimers, portal cranes, excavation and mining equipment, etc.
