Drum Screen

I. Purpose

The ZG type drum screen is widely used in urban sewage, industrial wastewater, food processing, papermaking, and other wastewater treatment projects. This equipment removes floating and sediment materials from water intake sources, and after squeezing and dewatering the screened residues, discharges them.

II. Main Features

1. The screen forms a 35° angle with the water flow. Due to the formation of reverse flow, even many impurities thinner than the screen gap can be separated;
2. The screen is equipped with a flushing device and a rake blocking device, providing self-cleaning functionality;
3. The cylindrical structure increases the water flow capacity compared to traditional screens, reduces head loss, and minimizes the accumulation surface in front of the screen;
4. All components in contact with water are made of stainless steel and treated with acid pickling and passivation, offering strong corrosion resistance and long service life in all domestic sewage and most industrial water applications;
5. Integrated screening, conveying, and compression treatment save space and reduce subsequent waste disposal costs;
6. Almost no maintenance is required; no lubrication is needed at rotation points, and the drive device requires minimal lubrication;

III. Working Principle

The equipment is installed in a channel at a 35° angle to the horizontal. Wastewater flows into the drum from the end, and water passes through the screen gaps while solid waste is filtered inside the screen basket. A cleaning arm with rake teeth cleans the screen gaps during circular motion. The rake teeth extend into the screen to remove solids. When the cleaning arm reaches the highest point, waste is cleared from the rake teeth through water flushing and the action of a slag blocking plate, falling into the spiral conveyor hopper of the waste collection device. During conveyance, dewatering occurs through variable pitch action, and the waste is squeezed dry in the uppermost compression zone. The squeezed water is returned to the channel, and the waste is finally sent to a container or subsequent equipment for further treatment.
