Optical cover glass (Cover Glass/Cover Lens) serves as the "outer armor" of display and touch systems and is the first gateway in the imaging light path. It is typically made of ultra-thin soda-lime or high-aluminum-silicon glass, ranging from 0.3 mm to 2 mm in thickness. Through processes such as cutting, CNC shaping, chemical strengthening (CS > 450 MPa, DOL > 8 μm), thinning, polishing, coating, and screen printing, it maintains a visible light transmittance of ≥92% while endowing the glass with composite properties such as drop resistance, scratch resistance, anti-glare, anti-reflection, fingerprint resistance, and resistance to acids and alkalis.

Depending on terminal requirements, cover glass can be layered with functional coatings such as AG (anti-glare), AR (anti-reflection), AF (oleophobic), UV-IR Cut, light-shielding ink (BM), and stray light absorption layers to achieve high contrast, high color reproduction, low fingerprint residue, and long-term weather resistance. It can also undergo 3D hot bending or etching thinning to achieve curves with a radius of over R500 mm at a thickness of 0.1 mm, meeting the stringent demands of foldable screens, automotive HUDs, and wearable devices for lightness, thinness, flexibility, and safety.
