The quality of colored pervious concrete pavement is closely related to the base layer. Due to its permeability, surface water directly infiltrates through the concrete pavement into the base layer, causing instability issues. An unstable base layer can damage the pavement. Therefore, during on-site construction, it is necessary to select a structural layer that meets the seepage conditions and load-bearing capacity based on the pavement's usage requirements.

For sidewalks, garden paths, and other areas that need to meet pedestrian requirements while considering ecological factors, a fully permeable layer structure can be used. The base layer is compacted with plain soil, followed by the laying of graded crushed stone or gravel. For general light-load parking lots, it is essential to ensure load-bearing requirements, often opting for high-strength concrete with a certain designed thickness. Considering the impact of surface water on the base layer, a commercial concrete structural layer can be used to increase hardness and provide a waterproofing function for the base layer.
