The construction of sheep sheds should preferably be of the corridor back-slope type, with a higher front and lower back, at a slope of about 30 degrees. The front eaves should be 2.4 meters high, the back wall should be over 1.7 meters high, the corridor should be 1.2 meters wide, and the front wall should be 1.4 meters high. For plastic warm sheds, a movable type is preferable. On sunny days at noon, open the shed frame to ventilate and sun the pen. It is essential to promptly remove manure and urine. If it is a fixed plastic warm shed, sufficient ventilation openings should be left, and manure and urine should be cleaned every 3-6 days to prevent excessive moisture in the pen from causing respiratory and joint diseases in sheep.

Currently, most sheep farmers in China use the form of large pens with small sheds. The method involves building a brick wall in front of the shed, with the height and distance determined based on the original shed's height, but ensuring maximum ventilation and light exposure. For enclosed double-slope sheep sheds, internal and external modifications should be made. If the internal height is over 3 meters, a warm shed ceiling can be installed inside, and a warm shed corridor can be built outside. In China's pastoral areas, sheep farming is mostly in high-cold grasslands, with winters lasting up to 7 months. Erecting plastic warm sheds can effectively prevent weight loss and spring weakness.

When building plastic warm sheds for sheep pens, attention should be paid to insulation. Choose a location that is sheltered from the wind and sunny, with flat and dry terrain. Use insulating materials such as polyvinyl chloride film or polyethylene film, adopt double-layer coverage, and form an air barrier between the layers to prevent convection. Seal edges and gaps well, and hang a door curtain at the entrance. Maintain an appropriate stocking density and fully utilize the body heat generated by sheep activity, which can significantly increase the temperature inside the shed and pen.

Ventilate during the warmer hours at noon each day, and promptly remove leftover feed, wastewater, and manure. Spreading bedding grass or plant ash can help prevent moisture.
