The location and construction of the duck house should be chosen on high and dry ground, with flat and solid terrain, ample sunlight, close to a water source (water depth 1-2 meters), facing south, and away from villages. The duck shed should have an arched roof, with a roof height of 4-5 meters, eaves height of 1.8 meters on all sides, and two 1.5-meter-wide doors on the side near the water. There must be an exercise yard. Building materials can include steel frames, covered with waterproof membranes and fireproof insulation cotton. A 60 cm high bamboo fence should be installed around the exercise yard, with one feeding trough and one water trough for every 100 ducks in the yard. The duck house area should allow for 6-8 ducks per square meter, and generally, a shed should house around 1000 ducks. One end of the house should be reserved for a feed storage room and the keeper's living quarters.

II. Selecting the Right Breed of Laying Ducks Choose breeds with good production performance, gentle temperament, small body size, early maturity, fast growth and development, low feed consumption, high egg production, high feed utilization, good adaptability, and strong disease resistance.

III. Proper Feeding Management of Laying Ducks During the feeding process, laying ducks should be managed according to the different growth habits of ducklings, growing ducks, and laying ducks.

1. When managing ducklings, focus on five key aspects.

① Drinking water: Provide water 12-24 hours after the ducklings hatch, with water temperature ideally between 20-25°C. An appropriate amount can be added to the water to enhance the ducklings' constitution and prevent duck enteritis. ② Initial feeding: Use rinsed broken rice to feed until six-tenths full, then gradually add duckling feed. Feed 6-8 times a day until one month of age.

③ Temperature control: Maintain the indoor environmental temperature at 27-30°C, then reduce it by 3°C each week until, after three weeks, the temperature is kept at around 20°C.
