YOUNG Serial Output Wind Monitor 09101

The YOUNG Serial Output Wind Monitor 09101 Wind Speed and Direction Instrument combines the performance and durability of our standard wind speed and direction instrument with a unique optical encoder direction sensor and serial output.

The wind speed sensor is a four-blade propeller. The propeller rotates, generating a variable frequency signal in a stationary coil. The raw signal is converted into a digital serial output by an onboard microprocessor circuit. The wind direction sensor is a durable molded vane. Even if the power is interrupted, the absolute encoder maintains direction. The serial output or voltage output signal is selected simply by moving an internal jumper. The housing components are UV-stable thermoplastic. The fittings are made of stainless steel and anodized aluminum. The device is mounted on a standard 1-inch pipe.

Model 09106 Wind Speed and Direction Instrument SE MA is an improved version of the 09101, specifically designed for harsh marine environments.
