The preparation of metallurgical pellets is an important part of the metallurgical process. It not only improves the metallurgical physical and chemical properties of the materials but also serves as a significant pathway for the resource utilization of industrial solid waste and the realization of a circular economy. Cold-bonding technology can not only enhance combustion or reaction performance but also reduce the formation and emission of pollutants through the addition of removal agents. Therefore, cold-pressed pellet technology is a crucial method for achieving energy savings, environmental protection, and the utilization of waste resources. To this end, our company has introduced a series of cold-bonding pellet binders.
The determination of raw material ratios in iron ore pellet production, as well as the binders for steel slag powder briquetting, primarily depends on the following aspects:
(1) Based on the physical and chemical properties of the raw materials. The physical properties of raw materials (mainly referring to iron ore concentrate powder), such as particle size, specific surface area, and hydrophilicity, can have a significant adverse impact on the pelletizing process and the quality of green pellets. Therefore, their proportion should be appropriately controlled, and other raw materials may need to be added to improve the process.
(2) Based on the source of raw materials. Pellet production generally uses raw materials from local mines. Under special circumstances, when using partially imported or non-local raw materials (such as iron ore concentrate powder, binders, or additives), the proportion should be kept within a lower range.
(3) Based on the supply of raw materials. Due to factors such as mine reserves, mining capacity, mineral processing capacity, and transportation, the proportion of raw materials can be determined according to the supply volume available at the plant.
Pellet binder: Dosage 1%-1.5%, forming rate 98%, wet pellets do not break when dropped from a height of two meters, dry pellets do not break when dropped from a height of five meters, compressive strength of 100 kg, does not reduce grade, contains no sulfur, phosphorus, carbon, or other elements detrimental to smelting. It is a purely organic binder. Suitable for briquetting both metallic and non-metallic mineral powders. 1 ton of binder can produce 100 tons of pellets. Added as a dry powder, the operation is simple, fast, and convenient.
