Jacket Cathodic Protection Monitoring System Monitoring Device
The program should be set according to actual needs to perform regular monitoring of the cathodic protection system. Monitoring content includes cathode potential, anode potential, and anode output current. The monitoring device consists of an underwater section and an above-water section. The above-water section mainly includes temporary outdoor data acquisition/storage units and permanent indoor cathodic protection monitors; the underwater section mainly includes reference electrodes, monitored anodes (including measurement resistors and insulating flanges), and connecting cables.
Performance specifications of the monitoring device are as follows:
a) It should be able to withstand harsh marine environments, with data acquisition/storage units operating normally in temperatures from -20°C to 50°C; b) The self-contained power supply of the data acquisition/storage unit should be capable of continuous operation for over 120 days;
c) It should possess waterproofing and strong shock resistance and anti-interference capabilities;
d) Operation should be simple and reliable;
e) The number of data acquisition channels should meet the requirements of the cathodic protection monitoring system, with each channel's input impedance greater than 100 MΩ;
f) The potential measurement range should be no less than -1400 mV to 1400 mV, with a potential resolution of less than 0.5 mV;
g) The current measurement range should be no less than 10 times the anode's designed output current, with a current resolution of less than 0.1 A;
h) The data acquisition speed should meet the requirements of cathodic protection monitoring;
i) The data storage capacity of the data acquisition/storage unit should be no less than 3000 sets, with backup functionality. Stored data should be retainable for over 2 years;
j) The cathodic protection monitor should be able to operate independently or connected to the data acquisition/storage unit. Its sampling channels, input impedance, measurement range, and accuracy should be the same as those of the data acquisition/storage unit. The display should be intuitive and clear, providing a clear understanding of the current status, historical data, and settings of the cathodic protection monitoring system, and allowing easy access to relevant data, trend graphs, and the remaining life of sacrificial anodes;
k) The data acquisition/storage unit should be testable and debuggable separately and also usable while connected to a computer.

The data acquisition/storage unit begins operation when the jacket is launched. After the installation of the platform's upper facilities is completed, daily monitoring should be conducted by the cathodic protection monitor located in the central control room.
