Commissioned by veterans of the Aid Vietnam and Resist US campaign to create a commemorative medal, we designed the theme "Aid Vietnam and Resist US." The upper part of the medal features a pair of spread wings with the Chinese characters "援越抗美" (Aid Vietnam and Resist US) in yellow. In the center is a golden portrait of the Chairman, with "Aid Vietnam and Resist US" written in large red characters. The lower main body is a golden five-star emblem, with the star itself in red. The edge of the medal has a thin border line, inside which is inscribed the commemorative text: "Aid Vietnam and Resist US Chinese People's Liberation Army Engineer Corps 53rd Division 60th Anniversary Commemoration June 2025." The central architectural pattern is the Friendship Pass, the gateway through which the Chinese People's Liberation Army crossed to support Vietnam. Above the Friendship Pass is the August 1st emblem. The border design of the medal features a gun and a pen, symbolizing the Chairman's saying that "political power grows out of the barrel of a gun." The overall design symbolizes the commemoration and honor of the Aid Vietnam and Resist US history.

Background of Aid Vietnam and Resist US:

In April 1965, the Vietnam Workers' Party requested support from China, and the Chairman decided to provide comprehensive and selfless assistance to Vietnam. The Chinese anti-aircraft artillery units aiding Vietnam began entering Vietnam in nine batches starting from August 1, 1965, to participate in the war. To commemorate this significant moment, some veterans who participated in the war spontaneously organized a meaningful comrades-in-arms gathering to honor the Aid Vietnam and Resist US campaign.
