Product Introduction

Volatile oils are a general term for oily liquids that can evaporate at room temperature, be distilled with steam, and are immiscible with water. The volatile oil tester is suitable for pharmaceutical industries, drug research, daily chemical industries, food industries, and other units to determine the volatile oil content in drugs and plant tissues containing volatile components. The principle involves distilling the azeotropic mixture of water and volatile oil from the sample, condensing it, and collecting the distillate. Due to differences in density, the distillate separates into layers in the receiving tube, thereby extracting the volatile oil from the sample.

The toluene method moisture tester is a routine inspection item in pharmaceutical standards such as the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, aimed at controlling the moisture content in drugs to prevent mold, hydrolysis, oxidation, etc. Utilizing the low solubility of water in toluene and the low boiling point of toluene, toluene and a certain amount of the sample are placed in the device. The moisture in the sample and toluene vapor are distilled together, the distillate is collected, and after cooling, the water and toluene separate into layers. The moisture content of the sample is then read from the moisture measuring tube.
