Introduction to Skid-Mounted Nitrogen Generator

A skid-mounted nitrogen generator refers to an integrated system where all components of an industrial nitrogen generator are assembled onto a single base frame, allowing for easy installation and mobility. The term "skid-mounted" originates from the practice of moving and positioning the equipment using crowbars, although nowadays lifting equipment is commonly used.

Working Principle of Skid-Mounted Nitrogen Generator

The skid-mounted nitrogen generator operates based on the pressure swing adsorption (PSA) principle, utilizing high-quality carbon molecular sieve as the adsorbent. Under certain pressure, nitrogen is extracted from the air. Purified and dried compressed air undergoes pressurized adsorption and depressurized desorption in the adsorber. Due to aerodynamic effects, oxygen diffuses much faster than nitrogen in the micropores of the carbon molecular sieve, causing oxygen to be preferentially adsorbed, while nitrogen is enriched in the gas phase, forming the final nitrogen product. The adsorbed oxygen and other impurities are then desorbed by reducing the pressure to atmospheric levels, achieving regeneration of the adsorbent.
