As the volume ratio of various gases in the air does not change with increasing altitude, the oxygen volume fraction remains constant at 20.9% from sea level to 10,000 meters above sea level. However, due to the decrease in atmospheric pressure, the content of gas molecules per unit volume changes. For oxygen, as altitude increases, atmospheric pressure and temperature decrease, leading to a corresponding reduction in oxygen partial pressure and a decrease in oxygen content per unit volume. Diffuse oxygen generators have become the preferred choice for people living and working in high-altitude areas.

High-altitude diffuse oxygen generators utilize pressure swing adsorption (PSA) oxygen generation equipment, which operates under normal temperature and pressure conditions. They employ specialized PSA molecular sieves to selectively adsorb nitrogen, carbon dioxide, water, and other impurities from the air, thereby producing oxygen with high purity (93%±2). Since its introduction into industrial applications, PSA oxygen generation technology has developed rapidly. Due to its strong cost-performance ratio in medium to low production ranges and applications where purity requirements are not excessively high, it is widely used in steelmaking fluxing, blast furnace oxygen enrichment, pulp bleaching, glass furnace operations, wastewater treatment, and other fields. Research on this technology began relatively early in China, but its development was relatively slow for a long period. Since the 1990s, the advantages of PSA oxygen generation equipment have gradually gained recognition in the country.

Based on the principle of pressure swing adsorption, zeolite molecular sieves are used as adsorbents. Due to the selective adsorption characteristics of zeolite molecular sieves, nitrogen is adsorbed in large quantities, while oxygen is enriched in the gas phase, achieving nitrogen-oxygen separation under the action of pressure swing adsorption. The process involves two adsorption towers: one tower adsorbs and produces oxygen, while the other undergoes desorption and regeneration. The opening and closing of pneumatic angle seat valves are controlled by a PLC intelligent program, enabling the two towers to cycle alternately and continuously produce high-quality oxygen.
