This instrument is specifically designed for determining the caking capacity of coal used in coking—namely, the Roga index and caking index. It is suitable for use in laboratories within the coal, metallurgy, coking industries, as well as research institutions. It consists of an electric motor that drives two rotating drums at a speed of 50±2 revolutions per minute through a worm gear reducer. The coal sample coke undergoes a strength test inside the rotating drum, thereby indicating the caking capacity of the sample based on the wear resistance of the coal block—i.e., its resistance to destruction.
