WQGJ-300A Gray-King Low-Temperature Distillation Tester for Coal, Gray-King Distillation Furnace for Coal
The low-temperature distillation tester is used to conduct low-temperature distillation tests on lignite and bituminous coal. It provides coking property indicators—coke type, as well as distillation product yield indicators—semi-coke yield, tar yield, and total water yield. It also obtains the Gray-King coke type that characterizes the coking property of coal.
This instrument is manufactured in accordance with GB/T 1341-2007 "Test Method for Low-Temperature Distillation of Coal by the Gray-King Method." During use, the coal sample is placed in a distillation tube and inserted into the Gray-King low-temperature distillation furnace. It is heated according to a specified temperature program to 600 degrees and held for a certain period. The yields of tar, pyrolysis water, and semi-coke are measured, and the coke is compared with a set of standard coke types to determine its type. For strongly swelling coal, electrode carbon is added to the coal, and the coke type is determined by the minimum amount of electrode carbon required to achieve a coke type consistent with the standard coke type (G).

Working Principle: The coal sample is placed in a glass distillation tube and then inserted into a 300°C distillation furnace. It is heated in the absence of air at a rate of 5°C/min until it reaches 600°C, where it is held for 15 minutes. During this process, the coal undergoes drying, softening, and thermal decomposition to form a plastic mass and releases volatile matter (gas, tar, water vapor), forming semi-coke. The tar and water generated during the test are collected. The yields of semi-coke, pyrolysis water, and tar are calculated based on the mass requirements of each product. The coke is compared with a set of standard coke types to determine its type.
