Cleaning of alloy bearing shells: Place the bearing shells in a 10%-15% cleaning solution 1 to remove rust, then place them in hot water at 80 degrees Celsius to remove remaining dirt. After washing, place the bearing shells in hot water at 70 degrees Celsius to rinse off any remaining impurities. After cleaning, avoid touching the inner surface of the bearing shells with your hands. Sometimes, due to prolonged storage after removing old alloy, an oxide layer may form on the surface. Before tinning, perform a 3-minute weak corrosion in cleaning solution 1, then immediately immerse in cleaning solution 2 for 2 minutes to neutralize, followed by rinsing with hot water. 2. The adhesion of tin to the bearing shell is better than that of Babbitt metal. Tinning helps the Babbitt metal adhere more firmly. The tinning material used is tin or tin alloy, along with a flux. The flux removes surface oxides and grease, ensuring a strong bond. Tinning methods include the wiping method and the dipping method. 3. Removing contaminants: Use a blowtorch flame or heating furnace to heat the back of the bearing shell to remove old Babbitt metal. Carefully clean the melted Babbitt metal from the bearing shell with a wire brush, removing dirt, rust, and traces of Babbitt metal. Characteristics of low-melting-point tin-bismuth alloys: Stamping molds feature the simultaneous formation of punch and die through casting; after casting, the clearance between the punch and die is uniform, requiring no adjustment during use; molds can be cast directly on a press machine and used immediately after casting; the casting alloy material can be remelted repeatedly or repurposed for other molds.
