1. Flame the stainless steel membrane support using a burner.
2. Flame the stainless steel funnel using a burner.
3. Flame the inner surface of the stainless steel funnel and the funnel lid using a burner.
4. Place the membrane forceps under the burner for flaming, then allow them to cool slightly.
5. Carefully remove the membrane from its sterile packaging using the membrane forceps.

6. Gently place the membrane on the support pad.
7. Collect the filtered sample, then thoroughly rinse the inner surface of the funnel with sterile water or saline to ensure experimental accuracy.
