1. Introduction to French Food Contact Materials DGCCRF
DGCCRF is the English abbreviation for French food-grade safety regulations. Food contact products sold in France must not only comply with the EU Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 but also adhere to local French decrees and regulations, including French DGCCRF 2004-64 and French Décret no. 92-631. French regulations impose specific requirements not only on plastic and rubber products in food contact materials but also classify and set special requirements for metal products.
2. Testing Standards
When products come into contact with food, they must not:
(1) Release components that pose a risk to human health;
(2) Cause unacceptable changes in the composition of the food;
(3) Reduce the sensory properties of the food (altering the taste, smell, color, etc.).
3. Testing Scope
Tableware: Bowls, cups, knives, forks, spoons, pots, plates, dishes, chopsticks, trays, napkins, straws, etc.;
Kitchenware: Knives, pots, spatulas, basins, peelers, grills/forks, etc.;
Kitchen appliances: Juicers, soy milk makers, coffee machines, kettles, ovens, microwaves, rice cookers, sterilizers, dishwashers, blenders, toasters, range hoods, gas stoves, induction cookers, etc.;
Food packaging materials: Plastic wrap,保鮮袋 (fresh-keeping bags),保鮮盒 (fresh-keeping containers), storage jars, condiment bottles,密封罐 (sealed jars), tablecloths, paper, etc.;
Children's products: Bottles, pacifiers, teethers, thermos cups, bottle warmers,輔食料理工具 (complementary food preparation tools), etc.
