Polyurethane elastomer is a new type of high molecular synthetic material between rubber and plastic, which combines the high strength of plastic with the high elasticity of rubber. Its characteristics include:

1. Wide hardness range. It still maintains the elongation and resilience of rubber even at high hardness. The hardness range of polyurethane elastomer is Shore A10-D80.

2. High strength. At rubber hardness, their tensile strength and load-bearing capacity are much higher than those of general rubber. At high hardness, their impact strength and bending strength are much higher than those of plastic.

3. Wear resistance. Its wear resistance is outstanding, generally in the range of 0.01-0.10 (cm3) per 1.61 km, which is about 3-5 times that of rubber.

4. Oil resistance. Polyurethane elastomer is a strongly polar polymer compound with low affinity for non-polar mineral oils and is almost impervious to erosion in fuel and mechanical oils.

5. Good resistance to oxygen and ozone.

6. Excellent vibration absorption, suitable for damping and buffering. In mold manufacturing, it can replace rubber and springs.

7. Good low-temperature performance.

8. Radiation resistance. Polyurethane has excellent resistance to high-energy radiation and maintains satisfactory performance at doses up to 10-10 Gy.

9. Good machinability. (Can be turned, milled, ground, and drilled)
