Precautions

(1) Select the coarseness of the grinding wheel based on the material of the workpiece and the required processing precision. Softer metal materials, such as copper and aluminum, should use coarser grinding wheels; for workpieces requiring higher precision, use finer grinding wheels.
(2) Choose the appropriate grinding wheel surface shape according to the desired processing shape.
(3) The grinding wheel used must not have cracks, defects, or damage, and must be installed securely. During use, always be vigilant—if any cracks, defects, or damage are found, stop immediately and replace with a new one; if it becomes loose during operation, stop and tighten it immediately.
(4) During grinding, operators should wear protective goggles to prevent injury from flying metal chips and abrasive particles.
(5) Apply appropriate pressure to the workpiece being ground. Excessive pressure can cause overheating, leading to annealing of the processed surface, which may render it unusable and also shorten the grinding wheel’s lifespan.
(6) For workpieces narrower than the grinding surface of the wheel, avoid grinding continuously in one area. Instead, move the workpiece laterally across the grinding surface at regular intervals to maintain a relatively flat grinding surface for future processing.
(7) To prevent overheating and annealing of the workpiece, periodically cool the grinding area by immersing it in water.
(8) Regularly measure the motor’s insulation resistance, ensuring it is not less than 5MΩ. Use a circuit breaker with leakage protection when connecting to the power supply.
