Potassium carbonate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula K2CO3, a molecular weight of 138.206, appearing as a white crystalline powder, density 2.428 g/cm3, melting point 891°C. It is highly soluble in water, with its aqueous solution being alkaline, and insoluble in ethanol.
