The D172 wear-resistant welding electrode features the following characteristics:
Coating type: Lime-titania type coating, suitable for both AC and DC use.
Arc stability: The arc remains stable during surfacing, with easy slag removal and good process performance.
Hardness: The hardness of the surfacing layer reaches HRC ≥ 40.
Chemical composition: Main components include C, Mo, and Cr, with guaranteed values of ≤0.50%, ≤2.50%, and ≤2.50%, respectively.
When using the D172 wear-resistant welding electrode, the following points should be noted:
Baking: The electrode must be baked at approximately 150°C for 1 hour before welding.
Preheating: Large workpieces should be preheated to around 300°C before surfacing, and rust and oil stains on the surfacing surface must be removed.
