Product Overview Turkey Red Oil is an anionic surfactant, also known as Sulfonated Castor Oil or Sulfated Castor Oil. This product is a type of sulfonated oil, appearing as a transparent liquid ranging from light yellow to brown. It is widely used in textiles, papermaking, dyeing, wetting, and dispersion. It can also serve as an emulsifier and coolant in the metal cutting and wire drawing industries, as well as a pesticide emulsifier.

Applications 1. Scouring Aid for Cotton: During scouring, sodium hydroxide is commonly used as the main agent, but oil and wax impurities on cotton cannot be completely removed by saponification alone. Turkey Red Oil and soap are used as emulsifiers to transform substances that are difficult or impossible to saponify into emulsions for removal;
2. Dyeing Aid for Naphthol AS Series: Turkey Red Oil is a widely used dyeing aid. Naphthol AS series are typically first mixed with Turkey Red Oil into a paste, then sodium hydroxide is added to form a solution. This enhances the diffusivity and permeability of the padding agent, prevents colloid formation, and ensures uniform absorption;
3. Dyeing Aid for Sulfur Dyes: Due to its excellent permeability and emulsifying properties, Turkey Red Oil is often added as a dyeing aid when sulfur dyes are used for cotton fabric dyeing, resulting in bright and uniform colors.
4. Softener for Finished Cotton Fabrics: As Turkey Red Oil contains a high amount of oil, it improves the hand feel of cotton fabrics and enhances their luster. For example, sulfur black fabric can be treated with Turkey Red Oil as a post-treatment. Generally, Turkey Red Oil can be applied by padding and drying, with a usage amount of about 2% of the fabric weight.
5. Surfactant for Lubricating Oils: Due to its high oil content, adding Turkey Red Oil as an aid during lubricant production makes the finished lubricant more oily and smooth.

Performance Characteristics 1. Turkey Red Oil is easily soluble in water, forming an emulsion. It deteriorates when exposed to air.
2. It has excellent emulsifying and penetrating power but is less prone to precipitation in hard water.
3. Turkey Red Oil outperforms soap in terms of acid resistance, resistance to metal salts, and wetting power.
