       In the design of photovoltaic power generation systems, the installation form of the photovoltaic module array significantly affects the total solar radiation received by the system, thereby influencing the power generation capacity of the grid-connected photovoltaic system.

       Photovoltaic modules can be fixed on buildings in two forms: Building-Applied Photovoltaics (BAPV) and Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV). BAPV involves directly placing photovoltaic modules on buildings, while BIPV uses specialized photovoltaic modules as building materials, integrating them as part of the building envelope.

(1) For existing buildings that are already constructed, it is generally recommended to adopt the direct placement fixed installation method. This approach involves installing metal supports on the building's roof or facade, and then securing the solar photovoltaic modules onto these metal supports, forming a solar photovoltaic array that covers the surface of the existing building. This installation method has relatively low initial construction costs.

(2) For new buildings under construction or in the design phase, BIPV can be considered. This involves combining solar cell modules with building materials to create building components that serve as the building's exterior surface materials. Alternatively, specialized modules can be directly used as roofing or curtain wall materials to cover the building surface, making the photovoltaic modules an integral part of the building. Moreover, considering the application of photovoltaic power generation during the architectural design phase allows for the integration of architectural design and photovoltaic system design, achieving the best combination of architecture and photovoltaics: maintaining the building's aesthetics while maximizing the power generation efficiency of the solar system.
