ABI is the ratio of ankle systolic pressure to brachial systolic pressure. Based on the results, it can determine the stenosis and blockage of lower limb arteries. ABI is significant for the diagnosis and postoperative monitoring of obstructive arteriosclerosis.
PWV/ABI Testing Applicable Population:
(1) Individuals aged 20 years or older; those diagnosed with hypertension (including borderline hypertension), hyperlipidemia, diabetes (including elevated fasting blood glucose and impaired glucose tolerance), coronary heart disease, and stroke;
(2) Those with risk factors for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, such as a family history of early-onset cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, obesity, long-term smoking, high-fat diet, lack of physical exercise, etc.;
(3) Those with long-term symptoms such as dizziness and discomfort, without a clear diagnosis; those with symptoms of chest tightness, palpitations, or other precordial discomfort during activity or at rest, without a clear diagnosis;
(4) Individuals undergoing health check-ups.
