Antioxidant 2246

This product is an antioxidant used in plastic and rubber products, and is one of the superior varieties among phenolic antioxidants. It offers excellent protection against thermal oxidation, weather aging, flex cracking, and the effects of polyvalent metals. It is suitable for light-colored and colored rubber products. In the plastics industry, it provides protection against thermal and light aging for chlorinated polyether, impact-resistant PS, ABS resin, polyoxymethylene, and fiber resins. It belongs to the hindered phenolic antioxidants.

Antioxidant 2246 is a widely used, versatile, and powerful hindered phenolic-aldehyde antioxidant. It is non-polluting, non-toxic, and non-staining to products, and provides excellent protection against heat, oxygen, and cracking aging. It is commonly used in white or brightly colored rubber and plastic products (such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polyoxymethylene, ABS resin, and chlorinated polyether), especially offering the greatest protective effect against the aging of rubber products under sunlight. It has no impact on vulcanization and plasticity, disperses easily in water, and is convenient to use.

This product has superior antioxidant and anti-aging properties. Compared to the same series product Antioxidant 264 (BHT, T501), comparative tests have shown that in formulations originally using Antioxidant 264 (BHT, T501), only one-third the amount of Antioxidant 2246 is needed to achieve or even exceed the effectiveness of the original Antioxidant 264 (BHT, T501). When used in combination with the ultraviolet absorber UV-326, it will exhibit excellent synergistic effects. This product does not bloom, has extremely low volatility, and can improve the weather resistance of products. It is suitable for various rubbers, plastics, synthetic resins, latex, petroleum products, and more.

Antioxidant 2246 can be used as an antioxidant additive for petroleum products. It has good oil solubility and excellent antioxidant effects, and is not easily lost through volatilization.

This product is widely used in industries such as polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, chlorinated polyether, ABS, polyoxymethylene, and polyamide. It provides good stabilization against thermal degradation for almost all polymers. The typical dosage is 0.1-1.0%. In ABS plastics, the dosage is 0.12-3%. In rubber and plastic products, the dosage is 3-5%. For polypropylene granulation, the dosage is about 0.075%. If used in combination with Antioxidant DLTP, a dosage of 0.075% will result in products with even better anti-aging properties.
