The structure of the diaphragm valve is quite different from that of general valves. It is a unique type of valve and a special form of shut-off valve. Its opening and closing component is a diaphragm made of soft material, which separates the valve body cavity from the valve cover cavity and the driving components. It is now widely used in various fields. Commonly used diaphragm valves include rubber-lined diaphragm valves, fluorine-lined diaphragm valves, unlined diaphragm valves, and plastic diaphragm valves.
The diaphragm valve is equipped with a flexible diaphragm or a combined diaphragm inside the valve body and valve cover. Its closing element is a compression device connected to the diaphragm. The valve seat can be weir-shaped or the wall of a straight-through flow channel. The advantage of the diaphragm valve is that its operating mechanism is separated from the medium passage, ensuring not only the purity of the working medium but also preventing the possibility of the medium in the pipeline impacting the operating components of the mechanism. Additionally, no separate sealing is required at the valve stem unless used as a safety measure in controlling hazardous media. In diaphragm valves, since the working medium only comes into contact with the diaphragm and the valve body, both of which can be made from various materials, this valve can ideally control a variety of working media, especially those with chemical corrosiveness or suspended particles. The working temperature of the diaphragm valve is usually limited by the materials used for the diaphragm and the valve body lining, with a working temperature range of approximately -50°C to 175°C. The diaphragm valve has a simple structure, consisting of only three main components: the valve body, the diaphragm, and the valve head assembly. The valve is easy to disassemble and maintain quickly, and replacing the diaphragm can be done on-site in a short time.
