It also features stable microstructure and low sensitivity of magnetic properties to external disturbances. This type of alloy is primarily used in magnetic head cores, magnetic conductors, recording head shells, magnetic chips, sensors, and other components operating in AC weak magnetic fields.

Soft magnetic alloys refer to magnetic alloys that are easily magnetized under an external magnetic field and largely lose their magnetic induction (magnetic flux) once the external field is removed. They possess high permeability and low coercivity in weak magnetic fields. These alloys are important materials in the national economy, mainly used for energy conversion and information processing, such as in precision instruments, radio electronics, remote control, and automatic control systems.

There are many types of soft magnetic alloys with diverse applications, leading to various classification methods. 1J85 soft magnetic alloy is a high initial permeability alloy. The initial permeability of the alloy is influenced by various factors and their interactions, with chemical composition playing a particularly crucial role.

1J85 Strip Manufacturing Process

The production process for 1J85 alloy thin strip is as follows: Vacuum induction melting → Hot forging and blooming (1270°C × 10 min) → Hot rolling (four-high reversible hot rolling mill) → Cold rolling (four-high reversible cold rolling mill) → Bright annealing furnace intermediate annealing → Cold rolling to final product (four-high reversible cold rolling mill).

Enhancement of 1J85 Soft Magnetic Properties

Many factors affect the soft magnetic properties of 1J85 permalloy, including chemical composition and purity, surface quality, alloy microstructure, and heat treatment processes. Qualified soft magnetic properties are closely related to accurate chemical composition. Impurity elements in the alloy, especially those that can form interstitial solid solutions, can deteriorate the magnetic properties, reduce permeability, and increase coercivity and hysteresis loss. The grain size, crystal texture, magnetic texture, ordering transformation, plastic deformation, and internal stress of the soft magnetic alloy also significantly impact its magnetic properties. Annealing temperature, holding time, annealing mode, cooling rate, and annealing atmosphere during heat treatment likewise influence the alloy's magnetic properties.

The chemical composition of the alloy affects the heat treatment process. By adjusting the heat treatment parameters, optimal magnetic properties can be achieved.

Within 1200°C, increasing the annealing temperature helps improve magnetic properties.

When the annealing holding time is less than 4 hours, appropriately extending the holding time is beneficial for enhancing magnetic properties. Higher annealing temperatures allow for appropriately shortened holding times.

The two-step process is also a reasonable method.

Considering production costs and the above analysis, the heat treatment process for producing 1J85 alloy is: Heat with the furnace to 1150°C, hold for 4 hours, then slowly cool to 600°C, and rapidly cool to 300°C at a cooling rate greater than 500°C/h before removal from the furnace.
