Operating Steps of High-Temperature End-Face Friction and Wear Testing Machine:
Pre-Test Preparation: Determine the form of the test friction pair and process the specimen according to the drawing requirements. Prepare the upper and lower specimens and corresponding fixtures. Clean the specimen, lower disc, and fixture as required by the test.
Turn on the power, start the control computer and testing system software. Allow the equipment to idle and preheat for 10 minutes.
Specimen Clamping: Install the prepared specimen into the corresponding fixture and place it into the main shaft taper hole. Use a pull rod to secure the specimen in the fixture. Place the lower specimen into the disc seat and align it with the fixed pin. If heating or medium testing is required, make the corresponding settings.
Start the Test: Adjust the height of the lower disc to ensure a gap of 1–2 mm between the upper surface of the test ring and the lower surface of the upper specimen. Set the test force, test time, maximum friction torque (alarm and stop if exceeded), and main shaft speed. Click the "Load" button to apply the test force and start the test. During the experiment, the software automatically controls the test force and temperature at the set values, collects friction torque and main shaft revolutions in real time, and calculates the friction coefficient.
End of Test: When the experiment reaches the preset time or condition, click the "Stop" button on the main page to end the test. Save the test data and print the report.
