The flameless venting device consists of two parts—an explosion vent panel and a flame extinguishing module. The vent panel responds rapidly to rising deflagration pressure, opening immediately to reduce pressure. As the expanding fireball passes through the open vent panel, it is intercepted by the extinguishing module. The stainless steel mesh, supported by a frame, acts as a three-dimensional flame trap, extinguishing the flame and preventing propagation, thereby avoiding secondary or multiple explosions. The extinguishing module eliminates deflagration flames, reduces hot gas temperature, and captures both burning and unburned dust passing through the open vent panel.

Simultaneously, pressure waves or noise generated by production equipment are minimized. When flames pass through the mesh flame arrestor, heat exchange occurs, rapidly cooling high-temperature flames, venting pressure and smoke, while also reducing pressure waves or noise from the equipment.

Application Fields:

Widely used in industries such as grain, metallurgy, chemicals, power, light industry, tobacco, pharmaceuticals, machining, and solid waste treatment. Applicable equipment includes cyclone separators, bag dust collectors, dust collectors, cartridge filters, pneumatic conveying systems, rod or ball mills, bucket elevators, dryers and ovens, roller grinding, and buildings.

With increasingly stringent environmental inspections, safety has gained greater attention. Traditionally, explosion vent panels were installed on dust collectors to release overpressure from dust explosions. However, such installations indoors are not permitted by safety regulations due to risks to surrounding personnel and equipment, as pressure waves and flames from explosions could trigger secondary or multiple explosions. Therefore, relying solely on explosion vent panels for dust collectors is unreliable. We recommend using flameless venting + isolation technology (a cost-effective solution) or suppression + isolation technology to ensure production safety.

There are three main methods for dust explosion protection: venting, isolation, and suppression.

Venting: Releases explosion pressure in advance through a pressure relief device to protect equipment from damage.

Isolation: Uses an isolation valve to block the explosion and prevent flame propagation.

Suppression: Detection devices identify sparks and trigger fire suppression systems to instantly extinguish flames, preventing explosions.
