The flameless venting device consists of two parts—an explosion vent panel and a flame extinguishing module. The explosion vent panel responds to the rapid increase in deflagration pressure, immediately opening to reduce pressure. When the expanding fireball passes through the open vent panel, it is intercepted by the flame extinguishing module. The precision stainless steel mesh, supported by a frame, acts as a three-dimensional flame trap, extinguishing the flame and ensuring it does not propagate, thereby preventing secondary or multiple explosions. The flame extinguishing module eliminates deflagration flames, reduces the temperature of hot gases, and captures both burning and unburned dust passing through the open vent panel.

At the same time, pressure waves or noise generated by production equipment are significantly reduced. As flames pass through the mesh flame arrestor element, heat exchange occurs between the element and the flame, rapidly cooling the high-temperature flame, releasing pressure and smoke. Additionally, pressure waves or noise generated by production equipment are reduced.

With increasingly stringent environmental inspections, safety has drawn greater attention. In the past, explosion vent panels were commonly installed on dust collectors to release overpressure caused by dust explosions. However, such installations on indoor equipment are not permitted by safety regulations because they endanger surrounding personnel and equipment. The pressure waves and flames from an explosion may cause secondary or multiple explosions, posing risks. Therefore, relying solely on explosion vent panels for dust collectors is not reliable. We recommend using flameless venting + isolation technology (a more economical solution) or suppression + isolation technology to ensure production safety.

There are three main methods for dust explosion protection: venting, isolation, and suppression.
