The flameless venting device consists of two parts—an explosion vent panel and a flame extinguishing module. The explosion vent panel responds to rapid increases in deflagration pressure by immediately opening to reduce pressure. When the expanding fireball passes through the open vent panel, it is intercepted by the flame extinguishing module. The precision stainless steel mesh, supported by a frame, acts as a three-dimensional flame trap, extinguishing the flame to prevent propagation and avoid secondary or multiple explosions. The flame extinguishing module eliminates deflagration flames, reduces the temperature of hot gases, and captures both burning and unburned dust particles passing through the open vent panel.

Simultaneously, pressure waves or noise generated by production equipment are significantly reduced. As flames pass through the mesh flame arrestor element, heat exchange occurs between the element and the flame, rapidly cooling the high-temperature flame while venting pressure and smoke. Additionally, pressure waves or noise from production equipment are minimized.

Application Fields:

Widely used in industries such as grain, metallurgy, chemicals, power, light industry, tobacco, pharmaceuticals, machining, and solid waste treatment. Applicable equipment includes cyclone separators, baghouse dust collectors, dust collectors, cartridge filters, pneumatic conveying systems, rod or ball mills, bucket elevators, dryers and ovens, roller mills, and buildings.

With increasingly stringent environmental inspections, safety has garnered greater attention. Traditionally, explosion vent panels were installed on dust collectors to release overpressure caused by dust explosions. However, such installations on indoor equipment are not permitted by safety regulations due to risks to surrounding personnel and equipment, as pressure waves and flames from explosions could trigger secondary or multiple explosions. Therefore, relying solely on explosion vent panels for dust collectors is unreliable. We recommend using flameless venting + isolation technology (a more economical solution) or suppression + isolation technology to ensure production safety.

There are three primary methods for dust explosion protection: venting, isolation, and suppression.

Venting: Releases explosion pressure in advance through a pressure relief device to protect equipment from damage.

Isolation: Blocks explosions using an isolation valve to prevent flame propagation.
