The flameless venting device consists of two parts—an explosion-proof panel and a fire extinguishing module. The explosion-proof panel responds to the rapid increase in deflagration pressure, immediately opening to reduce pressure. When the expanding fireball passes through the open explosion-proof panel, it is intercepted by the fire extinguishing module. The precision stainless steel mesh supported by the frame acts as a three-dimensional flame trap, extinguishing the flame and ensuring it does not propagate, thereby preventing secondary or multiple explosions. The fire extinguishing module eliminates deflagration flames, reduces the temperature of hot gases, and captures both burning and unburned dust passing through the open explosion-proof panel.

At the same time, pressure waves or noise generated by production equipment are also minimized. As flames pass through the mesh flame-retardant element, heat exchange occurs between the element and the flame, rapidly cooling the high-temperature flame, releasing pressure and smoke. Additionally, pressure waves or noise generated by production equipment are reduced.

With increasingly stringent environmental inspections, safety is gaining more attention. In the past, venting panels were commonly installed on dust collectors to release overpressure caused by dust explosions. However, installing such devices indoors is not permitted by safety regulations, as it poses risks to surrounding personnel and equipment. The pressure waves and flames from explosions may cause secondary or multiple explosions, creating hazards. Therefore, relying solely on explosion-proof panels for dust collectors is unreliable. We recommend using flameless venting + isolation technology (a more economical solution) or explosion suppression + isolation technology to ensure production safety.

There are three main methods for dust explosion protection: venting, isolation, and suppression.

Venting: Releases explosion pressure in advance through a pressure relief device to protect equipment from damage.

Isolation: Blocks explosions using an isolation valve to prevent flame propagation.

Suppression: Detects sparks using detection devices, then activates fire extinguishing systems to instantly extinguish flames and prevent explosions.
