As global emission regulations become increasingly stringent, there is a need to shorten engine development cycles and bring vehicle emissions during real-world driving (RDE, Real Driving Emission) closer to the emission levels measured in engine laboratories. This requires that the test boundary conditions during the engine laboratory development phase more closely resemble the engine operating states during actual road driving. Only then can the emission levels of the developed engine more accurately reflect its true performance. As a result, post-processing conversion efficiency testing in engine laboratories has emerged.
