Water-based Rubber Release Agent

Water-based rubber release agents possess high tensile strength, making them resistant to polishing during frequent contact with molded resins. This is particularly true when the resin contains abrasive mineral fillers or glass fiber reinforcements. Water-based rubber release agents are chemically resistant and do not dissolve when exposed to the chemical components of various resins, especially styrene and amines. They also exhibit heat and stress resistance, preventing decomposition or wear. These agents adhere to the mold without transferring to the processed parts, ensuring no interference with painting or other secondary processing operations.

Performance Characteristics of Water-based Rubber Release Agent:

Water-based rubber release agents are resistant to acids, alkalis, and hard water, with strong water solubility and stable emulsion. They can be diluted with water in any proportion without stratification, demulsification, or caking. They have a long shelf life, high solid content, and excellent dispersibility. They are used for demolding in industries such as aluminum molds, steel molds, wooden molds, silicone molds, glass, ceramic molds, plastic molds, rubber, metal, and plastics. Water-based rubber release agents provide the demolded products with a smooth, wear-resistant, and anti-adhesive surface feel.

Usage Method of Water-based Rubber Release Agent:

Spray or brush the product directly onto the surface of the item to be demolded. The recommended dilution ratio for water-based rubber release agents is 3-10 times, and the specific amount used should be adjusted according to the product system.

Main Functions:

1. Reduce Contact Area: Forms a coating between the mold and the product, reducing the contact area and preventing adhesion.

2. Improve Separation: Enhances the separation between the mold and the product, minimizing material residue on the mold and ensuring product quality and production efficiency.

The basic formulation of water-based rubber release agents typically includes the following main components:

Base Materials: Such as paraffin, stearic acid, vegetable oil, emulsified wax liquid, methyl silicone oil emulsion, modified silicone oil emulsion, etc.

Emulsifier: Used to uniformly disperse the base materials in water to form a stable emulsion.

Water: Acts as the carrier, usually constituting the majority of the formulation.

Additives: Such as preservatives and anti-mold agents, used to improve the stability and shelf life of the water-based rubber release agent.

Specific Formulation Example:

Paraffin, stearic acid, vegetable oil, co-emulsifier, potassium hydroxide, etc.

Heat paraffin, stearic acid, co-emulsifier, and auxiliary oily raw materials to 60–80°C until melted. Then heat water, alkaline agent, and auxiliary aqueous raw materials to 80–90°C. Slowly add the aqueous phase to the oil phase under vigorous stirring, stir until room temperature, and obtain a white oil-in-water emulsion.

Polyurethane Water-based Rubber Release Agent:

The formulation includes emulsified wax liquid 10%–15%, methyl silicone oil emulsion 15%–20%, modified silicone oil emulsion 5%–8%, deionized water 50%–55%, emulsifier 4.5%–6%, additives 0.5%–1%, and preservative 0.3%–0.5%.
