 Asphalt felt, commonly known as tar paper, is a waterproof material used in the construction industry. The base paper has a loose texture, good oil absorption, and certain tensile strength. During processing, the base paper is passed through molten asphalt, squeezed by hot rollers to saturate the paper layers with asphalt, and excess asphalt is extruded. Construction Methods:

1: Base treatment and requirements: Before laying the felt, inspect the base (leveling layer) to ensure it meets national standards.

2: Before laying the asphalt felt, apply a layer of cold primer evenly on a dry and clean base. Allow it to dry for more than 12 hours before proceeding to the next step.

3: When the roof slope is less than 3%, the felt should be laid parallel to the ridge; for slopes between 3% and 15%, it can be laid parallel or perpendicular to the ridge.

4: The felt should be laid flat and compacted. Overlaps and edges should be carefully sealed with asphalt binder. The thickness of the asphalt binder for bonding each layer of felt is generally 1–1.5mm, with a maximum of 2mm. During laying, apply the adhesive while rolling out the felt, ensuring firm bonding and straight laying.

5: After the waterproof layer of the asphalt felt roof is laid and passes inspection, the protective layer should be immediately adhered.
