In the perception of many manufacturers, stainless steel products such as pot lids, kitchenware, cutlery, bathroom fixtures, etc., often develop mold before the cause is discovered. Through our investigation and years of visiting stainless steel product manufacturers, we have concluded that there are many reasons for mold growth. For example, employee hand sweat—something many people are unaware of—can leave prints on products, depositing inorganic salts that eventually lead to mold formation. This is a very common cause. Additionally, substances like fatty acids and calcium carbonate significantly increase the risk of mold growth on stainless steel products. However, there is no need to worry. After years of experimentation, we have developed a specialized anti-mold solution specifically for stainless steel products.

Causes of Mold

1. Residual sweat stains on stainless steel provide nutrients and food for mold growth.

2. The promotion and use of environmentally friendly water-based adhesives have become breeding grounds for bacteria and mold.

3. The EU restricts the use of hazardous chemicals such as pesticides, DMF, and azo-heavy metal preservatives.

4. Maritime transport and the temperature differences between day and night create "condensation phenomena," increasing the risk of product moisture and mold growth.

Solutions

1. To prevent mold on stainless steel products, anti-mold measures can be implemented within their packaging.

2. Place iHeir Power Dryer anti-mold desiccants and Power Pak anti-mold deodorizing tablets in the packaging of stainless steel products.

3. When placing stainless steel products into packaging boxes, insert Power Pak at the same time. The packaging boxes should be placed into outer cartons as soon as possible. Damaged or damp outer cartons may affect the anti-mold effectiveness of the product. For long-distance transport with concerns of rain, plastic bags should be added inside the cartons for protection. Within 72 hours of sealing the cartons after packaging, Power Pak will have destroyed and eliminated mold inside the box, creating a sterile environment inside the carton. This effect can be maintained for over 12 months before opening. If the packaging is opened for inspection after sealing, the gas from Power Pak will have dissipated. After inspection, a new Power Pak must be replaced to ensure anti-mold effectiveness.

4. The relative humidity in the warehouse should ideally be controlled below 60%. Finished products should not be placed directly on the warehouse floor but isolated with pallets, maintaining a distance of 50 cm from the walls. Ensure proper ventilation, conduct weekly inspections, and keep records of temperature and humidity changes in the warehouse. Regularly spray anti-mold agents and disinfect material warehouses and finished product warehouses to reduce the content of harmful microorganisms in the surrounding air and avoid contamination of materials or products. All finished products, inner boxes, and outer cartons should be stacked on the second floor, higher floors, or on pallets at least 5 inches above the ground.

5. Use a hygrometer to check relative humidity every 4 hours and record the readings. Keep relative humidity below 60%. Use exhaust fans in the warehouse to maintain air circulation. When opening or closing windows at the start and end of shifts, check for any damage to the windows and replace them promptly if necessary.

6. Ensure that container trucks are clean and free of leaks. Use specialized anti-mold agents for container trucks to sterilize and avoid cross-contamination. Use container drying rods to control condensation inside containers and reduce the risk of mold growth. Before loading, ensure that containers or trucks are clean, tidy, dry, and leak-free. Always use trucks with reinforced iron covers for transporting finished products. Use PE paper at the rear doors of containers or trucks to prevent moisture intrusion.
