Advantages of Early Streamer Emission

The unique effect of the OPR lightning rod stems from a controllable early streamer emission performance: before the natural

upward leader forms, the OPR generates a leader in advance, rapidly propagating toward the lightning direction until it captures the lightning and directs it into the ground.

Experiments confirm that it produces an early upward leader discharge earlier than ordinary lightning rods,

giving the OPR more effective lightning protection functionality.

Energy-Self-Sufficient, Power-Free, Non-Radiative Independent System

During thunderstorms, the environmental electric field may increase to 10kV/m ~ 20kV/m. Once this

electric field exceeds the minimum critical value for lightning formation, the OPR device will autonomously activate.

It absorbs energy from the surrounding electric field, generates high-voltage pulses, and thereby establishes and propagates

an upward leader. The OPR does not require any other power supply support nor does it use any

radioactive components.
