Samples should be sealed and observed for 1 day (stored in a transparent sealed container; if using a beverage bottle for storage, ensure it is thoroughly cleaned). If the emulsified asphalt shows no internal clumping or flocculent masses, it can then be passed through a 1.18mm sieve. Note that any surface skin should be removed before sieving. If the sieve residue meets the standard requirements, it indicates successful emulsification.

After observing the sample for 1 day and confirming it meets the standard requirements, large-scale production can proceed. It is best to produce and use the product immediately. If the emulsified asphalt remains stable after more than 5 days of observation, it can be stored for an extended period (generally, it is advisable not to exceed one month). When storing for a longer duration (more than a week), the emulsifier dosage should be set to the medium-to-upper limit, and the asphalt content should be above 50%. During storage, regular stirring (typically every 8–12 hours) or external circulation using an emulsified asphalt pump should be performed. If the asphalt content is low or the emulsifier dosage is insufficient, a small amount of separated water may appear on the surface during storage, but as long as the lower part does not form clumps, this is normal. Before each use, circulate or stir the mixture to ensure uniformity for proper application. If the product is produced and used immediately, the emulsifier dosage can be set to the medium-to-lower limit or even lower. However, for the first use, it is recommended to increase the emulsifier dosage as much as possible to ensure successful production.
